草肥水清，蓝天白云，一望无际的大草原，是我们心中最适合牛生存的地方。天堂地狱，一线之隔。  牛奶是什么？是母牛喂养小牛的母乳。所以先通过人工授精让母牛怀孕，再带走出生的小牛，这才有奶提供给人类。而牛又是何等聪明的动物，跟着车撕心裂肺地狂叫，这样的场景在一遍遍重复。 小公牛对奶制品行业没有利用价值，隔离几天观察没病后，便送往屠宰场。健康的小母牛则留下来，准备接替母亲，重复它的历程。 每只小牛被一根铁链拴在铁皮屋，这是它们此生待遇最好的一段时间。整齐洁白的牛棚，就像一个个墓碑，预示着它们的未来。 在孩子被屠宰的时间，有奶了的牛则被赶到挤奶棚，接上挤奶器，直到抽干奶水。 人工饲养的奶牛产奶量，是自然生长的牛的10倍，然而生命只有其1/5。当产奶量下降或体力不支，它们便可以和自己的孩子团圆，地点在屠宰场。 动物屠宰方法大同小异：先用螺栓枪将针刺入大脑，然后用电击枪电晕，或者用高浓度二氧化碳让它中毒，接着过热水、补刀割喉、放血。听上去残忍吗？这已经是被公认为，符合人道主义的宰杀方式。 待宰牛的隔壁，往往就是正在杀的同类。亲眼看着它们被击杀、解剖、肢解。 牛皮原本是肉业的副产品，但是当皮的价格超过肉类时，越来越多的牛因皮而被杀。 即使现在习惯在超市买鸡蛋，也没想过如今的养鸡场是何模样。或者说潜意识愿意相信，就是电视中那样干干净净，整整齐齐。  鸡分为两种，一种是为了吃的肉鸡，一种是为下蛋的蛋鸡。 肉鸡通过选择性育种，加上拥挤饲养少运动，人造光、抗生素提高饲料吸收率。一只鸡自然长到2公斤要96天，而养鸡场里长到3公斤只需要35天。因为身体无法承受极端体重，很多鸡常常畸形发展。 长好的肉鸡被送到屠宰场，经历通电池、热水池、机器割喉、工人补刀。聪明的鸡会抬起头躲过前两个，那就意味着它要眼睁睁看着，同伴被割喉的场面，然后自己一点点靠近那把刀。  健康的母鸡才可以下蛋。而那些公鸡和病态的母鸡，是没有利用价值的废物。破壳的瞬间便要走向死亡，直接被传送带扔入碎肉机。 在外表光鲜亮丽的养鸡场里，是无尽的黑暗。每个笼子里囚禁着4-20只鸡，它们只能下蛋，不能奔跑，不能刨土、不能伸翅膀。因为养鸡场太大，死一两只很难发现，很多活着的就踩着尸体继续下蛋。 它们几乎一天下1个蛋，一年300多个，而野生母鸡一年最多下15个。当它们下蛋能力衰弱，便被送往屠宰场。 鸭、鹅的命运大同小异。只是在讲到鹅的时候，纪录片里提到了中国，活拔鹅毛一事。  <section 澳大利亚美利奴羊，皮肤褶皱，产毛量多，可尾巴会把土拍到身上，导致招蝇长蛆。为了避免这种状况，人会把幼羊的尾巴直接剪断。当它们没有产毛能力时，便送往屠宰场。 除此之外，猪、兔、赛马、赛狗的命运都大同小异，我已经没法看完纪录片后半部分。那些生病的动物基本会被直接处死，因为有着合理死亡率，这些生命只是一个数字而已。  从出生到死亡，它们没有选择权，只有任人宰割。这个充满苦难、血腥的帝国中，没有希望、没有同情。 为之付钱的消费者被告知：动物被人道对待，放养、有机，大众也不会细究，这些每天入口的动物会经历什么。 有历史记录以来，丧生在战争中的人类有6.19亿。而每3天就有同样数量的动物被人类杀害。然而若改善它们的居住环境，那么必然导致肉价飞涨，谁又肯为此买单？ 写这篇文章最痛苦的就是，到最后都不知道错的是谁。消费者没错，他们用自己的钱买需要的食物；养殖者没错，这是他们的为生之计；屠夫没错，他们的工作总要有人做。人类没错，站在食物链顶端的我们也要活下去。可是，动物呢？我们嘴里的敬重生命呢？弱肉强食真的如此残酷。
